In this article, we examine the difference between online and line interactive UPS in three experiments.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

<\/td>\nFeatures discussed include:<\/p>\n

1. Time delay switching power supply switch between input power line and battery bank and vice versa (transfer switch delay between normal mode and battery mode)<\/p>\n

2. Output voltage stabilization<\/p>\n

3. Acceptable input voltage range for online and line interactive UPS<\/p>\n

The three experiments used two incandescent lamps and two online UPSs and an interactive line with two batteries as well as a transistor.<\/p>\n

Off-line UPS is powered by 7-hour internal batteries and online U-ups are powered by external 42-hour batteries. (The difference between the batteries and their type does not affect the test results.)<\/p>\n

Trans Varyac is used to change the input range, allowing for simultaneous power outages and observing the difference of the transmission delay time difference for both UPS.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

We first turn on Trans Varyac.<\/p>\n

The online ups are in auto start mode and will turn on.<\/p>\n

We also turn off the offline UPS with the power button and wait for both UPS to go into normal mode, ie use the input power.<\/p>\n

First experiment:<\/span><\/p>\n

Simulate power outage and observe its effect on the output of both UPS:<\/p>\n

Because the power transfer mechanism is in the offline UPS using the relays in it when switching from input to battery-inverter, the output of the UPS will be oscillating (so-called flashing).<\/p>\n

But in the online UPS there will be no fluctuation due to the bass, 400 volts, and the inverter being operational permanently.<\/p>\n
